Sleep and Dreams

As we all know, sleeping is one the most essential needs every human being has. We can spend without food or water, but not without sleep. There are many theories into why people sleep, and why we spend 1/3 of our lives on it. Scientists say that we need it to repair brain cells and neurons and also grow. Another theory to why is sleep is because in the state of sleep, our brain organizes ideas and It gets stored in our memory. This is why they say that it is good to study before we sleep. There is a theory that says we need sleep in order to rest our bodies, but this is false. Sleep is not needed to rest our bodies, just rest. Also, most of our time sleeping is spent dreaming, and many theories to why this happens have emerged. In many cases we have nightmares, where one of our loved ones dies like a parent, and it is believed that this happens to prepare ourselves for when it actually happens. Out of dreams many amazing things emerge, like ideas, inspirations, etc. Scientists have also concluded that dreaming can be done both sleeping and while being awake, just that while we are awake our dreaming is controlled hence we are conscious of things. In the end sleep and dreams will always be an essential part of our lives.
