Sensory Deprivation

After watching the video on “Sensory Deprivation”, I though; who in the world invented such a thing?! At the beginning I believed that the participants would be able to go through the 48 hours without any problem. I even believed I could go through it without a problem. After the first few hours went by, you could observe how the participants where beginning to act in a really strange manner as if they were beginning to go insane. They began to pace from one end of the room to another just for time to go by. Another participant simply slept almost throughout the entire elapsed time. There was one participant that really impressed me. He used his sensory deprivation time to simply meditate. He made it seem as if it were really easy. After watching him I realized that the only way to go through sensory deprivation is to stay calm and have a positive attitude. This will aid into stimulating the brain how it is needed in order to survive. Sensory
Deprivation can surely be a working method when it comes to torture. It does not kill people, but it does kill their brain. It damages their personalities, their way of thinking, reasoning, their way of looking at the world. Sensory Deprivation is mechanism of torture that no person should have to go through.
